The accommodation is based in Sutton, Surrey and can accommodate up to 5 adults. The property is a spacious property with individual bedrooms, one with en-suite, two communal bathrooms, a large shared lounge and kitchen and an extensive garden with an outside heated swimming pool.
Our Aim
Our aim is to support individuals with Autistic Spectrum Disorder to lead empowered and rewarding lives, by offering them independence, support and a low arousal environment.
Staff are present 24 hours a day to offer individuals 1:1 support. Individuals are supported to enhance their skills and abilities by accessing the local community, facilities and local colleges in order to gain an opportunity for employment in the future. All staff are fully trained to an exceptionally high standard in autism as well as health & safety, epilepsy, challenging behaviour and safeguarding as well as other mandatory training.
Visual support, PECS, Makaton, BSL, and verbal communication are a few of the ways we help support individuals with us.
Skills and Expertise
Burdon Lane is staffed by a Manager, Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker and Behaviour Technician, along with highly trained support workers to support individuals with Autism and challenging behaviour, applying a variety of strategies, interventions and alternative communication methods such as PECs, Makaton etc. The team provides 1:1 and 2:1 support depending on the individual’s care plan needs and requirements.
Our staff are experienced in supporting individuals with significant learning, communication and challenging behaviour needs within the context of an informed applied behaviour approach.
The Burdon Lane staff team are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and skills-enabling environment for our vulnerable adults empowering them to participate as fully as possible in their own well-being and their community.

Our biggest achievement to date is a consistent team and our outcome with one particular service user, which has resulted in a vast reduction in their challenging behaviour and an increase in their social skills.
